About Us
Nature in Art Museum and Gallery have linked a series of children's activity days to The Wild Escape, an initiative led by the Art Fund to encourage children to join in the conversation about biodiversity and UK wildlife.
Two sessions will run each day throughout February half term 2023. These will take place in the classroom and spaces are limited.
Morning 10.00-11.30
Afternoon 13.00-14.30
Tuesday 21st February – Shiny Bugs.
We will create 3D bugs using shiny paper and sequins. The children will then design a leaf for the bug to rest on.
Wednesday 22nd February – Bee Creative.
We will use bubble wrap to paint a hive. Children will then draw bees to add to the hive. When they have made a few bees, they can decide how to use them – mobile, picture, sculpture.
Thursday 23rd February – Beautiful Butterfly.
Make a stunning sun catcher out of tissue paper. Younger children will be given a template to decorate. Older children can choose to cut their own templates
Friday 24th February – We are going on a Bug Hunt.
Children will create a garden/meadow/field scene using chalk/crayons/pressed flowers. They will then be given a template of a magnifying glass and will have to draw the bug that can be found in their scene.
