About Us
THE 2024 farOpen ART TRAIL DATES ARE 6-14 July for your diaries. In 2023, 73 farOpen members opened their studios on the farOpen art trail. We held three exhibitions, plus Christmas markets. Please visit our home page and sign up to our newsletter to keep up to date on members’ exhibitions and workshops at www.farOpen.co.uk. Check out our members on the website and follow us on Instagram and Facebook for regular information.
If you wish to participate, application forms will be sent out at the beginning of each January. Please register from our homepage. You have to be a practising artist/maker and life roughly within the boundaries of the Forest of Dean District Council.
Plans for exhibitions in 2024 are underway and many farOpen members hold workshops.
Our local artists are a lovely bunch and, as you'll see, are often inspired by our stunning area in their work. Ask about their inspiration, have a good look at their work, learn about their career path, bring your young artists and let them see what it's really like to be an artist, curiosity is encouraged here!
A fabulous opportunity to meet artists in their unique working studios, see sketchbooks, work in progress and buy completed artwork, whether paintings, sculptures, ceramics, jewellery, textiles, metalwork, glass & enamelling, printmaking, photography, digital art, textiles, wood and furniture, carvings, cards, coaster, cushions. Immerse yourself in the studios’ creative environments and perhaps treat yourself to something special!
Thank you for your continued support. We hope you will enjoy visiting favourites and making new discoveries, as well as attending farOpen workshops and exhibitions.
