About Us
The annual farOpen Studios Trail gives you an unmissable opportunity to acquire affordable original artworks direct from the makers.
In June and July each year you can visit practitioners in studios, galleries and workshops in locations as far flung as Newent in the north and St Arvans in the South, Hartpury in the East and Penallt in the West.
Major exhibitions will be held at Taurus Crafts in Lydney and at The Dean Heritage Museum, Soudley before and during the open studios event.
The artists and makers who live and work here share a passion for the area with its idiosyncratic landscape and stalwart buildings, its rugged history of mining, metal working and forestry. They are always delighted to share with you their enthusiasm for the region that is the inspiration for much of their work.
Search out their studios at the end of forest tracks, tucked under the trees on the edges of villages, perched high on hillsides with magnificent views, or snuggling in the small towns that dot the region. You will find a warm welcome, great conversations and, quite possibly, tea and cake! And of course, a wealth of beautiful objects.
