Foodie Breaks: Abergavenny Excellence

History, Culture and Classic Stays

Sample the Welsh golden nectar at Ty Gwyn Cider located just outside Abergavenny at the foot of the Brecon Beacons where they have been growing cider apples for 60 years. Stop by and enjoy the cider barn and shop and drink a draft cider outdoors on the sun deck. Take a peek at the cider shed and view the cider-belt-press and mill (which is one of only two in the country).

Head for lunch at The Walnut Tree for Michelin starred food in a gorgeous rural setting with an eclectic menu using local ingredients.

Spend the afternoon at The Angel Hotel in the heart of Abergavenny sampling one of their exquisite afternoon teas.

Pop down the road to The Abergavenny Hotel to their cosy bar for a cocktail or two before sleeping in comfort in one of their sumptuous rooms.
