About Us
Be a forest runner and join us in our running series across the nation’s forests this autumn. The profits from Forest Runner sales help us grow, shape and care for your local forest, now and for future generations.
Whether you are a 5k or a 10k Forest Runner, choose your challenge and enjoy a run in some beautiful surroundings.
This year’s Forest of Dean event is moving to the iconic Symonds Yat Rock, starting nearly 500ft above sea level on the edge of the Iron Age hill fort. The Rock is in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and runners will be treated to some spectacular scenery throughout the 5k and 10k routes.
Both start on undulating gravel tracks through picturesque oak woodland, before a sharp climb where the two routes split. Both then follow narrow, potentially muddy trails over streams, tree roots and stony paths. Participants are advised to wear suitable off-road footwear.
The 10k route heads out towards Bracelands Campsite and features several climbs and descents on varied terrain. It is more challenging than last year’s event at Mallards Pike, but reaching the finish line will be even more rewarding!
The famous Log Cabin café will be open for you to enjoy a slice of cake at the end of the run.
