About Us
A one-off opportunity to learn cuttle bone casting from visiting Canadian artist and jeweller, Tony Deluca.
Tony is visiting the UK this summer and has very kindly agreed to run one of his workshops at The Studio.
You’ll learn, and get to practice the technique of cuttlebone/cuttlefish casting from a real pro. Making your own moulds and then casting your design in silver.
Cuttle bones and silver for use on the day will be available to purchase at The Studio, or you are of course welcome to source and provide your own.
At the end of the workshop, Tony will also have copies of his book available to purchase as well as some of the tools that you will have been using during the workshop. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some jewellery making experience. All of the tools and materials that you will need for the workshop will be provided.
Aprons are available to borrow, or you may just wish to wear clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty. Also please wear closed toe shoes and if you have long hair, have a bobble handy.
Finally, by booking a workshop at the Studio, you are also helping to support a fantastic charity. Taurus Crafts is not only a lovely place to visit, with lots of independent artists and a cafe serving delicious food, it’s a centre of excellence for providing work opportunities for adults with learning difficulties, so every penny that you spend at the Studio, Anna Fine Jewellery or with any of the other independent businesses goes towards helping them to continue this essential and invaluable work.
