About Us
Situated in a peaceful valley and backing onto ancient woodlands in the Forest of Dean, Humbug Barn is the perfect location for your forest escape. This spacious former cider barn has been lovingly renovated with the guest’s happiness in mind and boasts panoramic views of the forest and cider orchards.
INSIDE
The large lounge/diner has plenty of comfy seating, underfloor heating, wood burning stove, 6 seater dining table, games and DVD’s. this is a wonderfully light and open space to relax with friends or family.
The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook up a feast! Cooker, hob, microwave, pots, pans, utensils, blender, Nespresso coffee machine and a full-size fridge/freezer. We also leave guests a locally sourced welcome basket of bread, butter, milk and jam……. there’s usually cake too!
Humbug Kitchen also offers a welcome night meal to take the pressure off after a long journey and will be ready for you to pop in the oven on your arrival. This is something we organise prior to arrival with the guest.
Our king size, beamed bedrooms (one can be a twin) are tastefully decorated with luxury bedding for the perfect nights sleep. One bedroom has an ensuite shower room and the family bathroom has a bath and shower, fluffy Egyptian cotton towels are provided.
OUTSIDE
The outside space has parking for 2 large, or 3 small cars and we provide a ‘Third Rock’ charging cable for electric vehicles. We also provide safe storage for bicycles.
There is an alfresco dining area with 6-seater table and a brick built BBQ for you to enjoy on warm evenings. The hot tub area is covered and is the perfect spot for relaxing with a book, enjoying a glass of local cider or stargazing, we provide hot tub towels and flip flops.
Wherever you chose to sit outside there are incredible views of the forest and often birds of prey soaring high above.
Dogs are very welcome at Humbug Barn. The outside area is fully enclosed, there are plenty of walks from the front door and our orchard for off lead fun (the orchard is open most of the year but check with hosts first). We provide towels, blankets, poop bags, water bowl and treats too! Theres also an outside hot and cold tap for muddy paws.
