About The Trail

Welcome to one of the best places in the UK for Leaf Peeping - the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.

Each autumn, this diverse landscape bursts into colour as millions of trees transform into a patchwork of fiery reds, deep golds and vibrant yellows, offering one of the most spectacular seasonal displays you’ll find anywhere - this drive showcases the best of the region.

What is Leaf Peeping?

Originating from North America, Leaf Peeping is all about slowing down, getting outdoors, and enjoying the simple pleasure of admiring autumn leaves as they change colour. And with over 20 million trees spread across 200 square miles, there’s no better place in the UK to experience it than here, in the Forest of Dean.
