Accessible Trails
Everyone deserves the chance to enjoy the great outdoors – and here in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, there are plenty of trails designed with accessibility in mind. Whether you’re using a wheelchair, mobility scooter, walking aid, or simply prefer a flatter, well-maintained path, you’ll find routes that open up the beauty of our landscape to more people.
From smooth forest tracks to riverside paths with rest stops and accessible parking, these routes have been carefully chosen to help everyone enjoy time in nature. Explore peaceful woodlands, spot wildlife by the lakes, or follow old railway lines through the trees. Old Bob’s Trail is one of our most popular – a wide, accessible route perfect for pushchairs, tagalongs and adaptive bikes.
Some trails are surfaced all the way, others include accessible picnic benches, toilets, and viewpoints with seating. Mobility scooters can also be hired from key locations, making it easier to head out on an adventure with friends and family.
There’s no need to miss out on the forest’s magic. Whether you’re planning a short stroll or a gentle day out, our accessible trails help make the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley a place for everyone to enjoy – no matter your pace.
