About Willow Cottage

Willow Cottage is an Edwardian, three-bedroom holiday cottage, welcoming groups of up to six guests.

Originally built as a miners’ dwelling for the nearby Cannop Colliery, the cottage is conveniently located for nearby tourist attractions, like Pedalabikeaway Cycle Centre, Beechenhurst Lodge, Cannop Ponds, and Hopewell Colliery.

Exposed stone walls, brick chimney breasts and wooden floors display the original features of the building.  A traditional wooden kitchen with granite worktops and underfloor heating, equipped with a range cooker, fridge with freezer box, a dishwasher and microwave oven, make your self-catering holiday a breeze. A dining room with a large oak table can accommodate all of your company around the dinner table.

In the evenings, guests may gather around a log fire in the lounge, making use of the twin sofas, where entertainment is ensured by access to satellite TV and games. Free wifi is available.

A wooden staircase leads up to two double bedrooms and a third bedroom with a bunk bed, which can cater for multi-generational getaways or a trip with your close friends. A shower room with WC is located right next to the bedrooms.

The cottage has been fully renovated and equipped with eco-friendly technology, including solar panels supplying hot water and electricity, and infrared heating panels. Two log burners, using locally sourced hardwood logs, provide additional heating and cosy luxury.

A large, enclosed garden provides space for play and picnic, and Off-road parking is available for two vehicles in our back yard.  There is also secure cycle storage facilities on site.

Guests are welcome to arrive at a flexible and convenient time after 5 pm, and can access the property by using self-check in.  Check out is 10 am.

Central forest location ensures quick access to nearby attractions on foot, which include a nature reserve, a forest playground, a sculpture trail, cafes, a cycle hire centre and multiple cycle tracks of varying difficulty. If you are lucky, you may observe wildlife, like birds, squirrels, hare, deer, and occasionally even wild boar in the surrounding woods.
