About Severn Valley Touring Caravan, Camping and Glamping Site

Nestled in the peaceful village of Awre, on the edge of the Severn Estuary, Severn Valley Touring is a small, family-run site surrounded by open farmland and panoramic countryside views stretching across the Forest of Dean and towards the Malvern Hills on a clear day.

This is a place for those who love nature, birdlife, and big skies. Whether you’re here to walk the Severn Way, spot the Severn Bore, or simply soak up the sounds of skylarks and curlews, there’s something special waiting just outside your caravan, tent or shepherd's hut.

Our Site

We offer a quiet, well-designed site with:

- 8 spacious grass touring pitches, some with hard standing and electric hook-up

- A modern toilet and shower block, plus an accessible shower room

- Undercover outdoor washing-up area

- One bespoke ensuite shepherd’s hut for glamping

Please note: We are a dog-free site, due to our proximity to working farmland and livestock (except guide dogs).

Stay in Our Shepherd’s Hut

Converted from a vintage railway carriage and lovingly finished, our ensuite shepherd’s hut is perfect for couples, nature lovers and glamping newcomers alike.

Inside you’ll find:

- A king-size bed (or twin setup) with orthopaedic mattress

- Ensuite shower and toilet

- Compact kitchenette with microwave, induction hob, toaster, kettle and Belfast sink

- Electric heating, bedding and towels included

- Outdoor seating to enjoy those peaceful views

- It’s ideal for a romantic break, walking holiday, or simply a relaxing retreat.

A Wildlife-Rich Location

Early risers may spot hares in the field or barn owls at dusk, while buzzards, kestrels, and the occasional red kite circle above. The Severn Way is less than half a mile away - perfect for gentle walks along the riverbank with views of the ever-changing estuary and the magical sight of the Severn Bore.

An Ideal Base

We’re just 1.5 miles off the A48 (Gloucester to Chepstow road), making us a great base to explore:

- The Forest of Dean

- The Wye Valley

Nearby market towns, outdoor attractions, and historic landmarks
