About Resilient Woodlands Retreat
Resilient Woodlands Retreat offers two luxury log cabins nestled in ancient woodlands in the beautiful forest of dean. Each cabin has its own totally private woodfired hot-tub and stunning panoramic views over the Severn estuary.
Featured in The Guardian and The Times, our glamping cabins are ideal for couples looking for a romantic escape to the woodlands, or for a fun family holiday exploring the forest. They have been lovingly crafted to ensure you have everything you need to rest, recuperate and really make the most out of your getaway to nature, including:
- Master bedroom with comfy king size bed and woodland views
- Living space with wood burner, dining table and double futon sofa bed, so up to four guests can sleep comfortably (luxury bedding provided for all guests)
- Fully kitted kitchen with: induction hob, microwave, butler sink, fridge (+ small freezer) and all the other cooking essential utensils.
- Bathroom with a full-size shower unit, sink, large mirror and modern flushing toilet (eco-friendly toiletries and towels provided)
- Large Kirami wood-fired hot tub situated in total privacy, surrounded by woodland - the perfect way to spend an evening stargazing
- Spacious, sheltered private deck providing stunning views - a spectacular spot to relax with your morning coffee or dine alfresco
- We welcome up to two dogs per cabin. We provide a dog bed, bowls, dog towel and outdoor hose - just be sure to add a dog to your booking.
When it comes to venturing out we have beautiful forest trails accessible directly from the cabins, from short forest strolls, to longer day hikes. The local area is also teeming with things to do. The Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is on our doorstep with historic Tintern village and its famous abbey less than 15 minutes drive away. For the more adventurous, the Forest of Dean Cycle Centre offers some of the best down hill mountain biking in the UK, with trails for beginners to seasoned pros (20 mins away). If you’ve little ones in tow, don’t miss Puzzlewood (15 mins by car), an otherworldly ancient woodland and popular filming location. Or head to Beechenhurst Lodge (20 mins by car), where you can enjoy the various cycle/walking/sculpture/activity trails or a treetop adventure at Go Ape.
The nearby village of Woolaston (five mins by car) has a village store for the basics and the larger towns of Lydney and Chepstow (both 15 mins by car) have all the shops and amenities you’ll need to stock up for your stay
