Forest of Dean Cycle Centre
Get DirectionsAbout Forest of Dean Cycle Centre
This centre, on the site of an old colliery, is the ideal place to start your cycling adventure. With a family cycling trail, blue and red graded cross-country trails and eleven downhill trails, the Forest of Dean Cycle Centre has something for everyone.
The Colliers Trail is a waymarked circular route mainly on former railway lines with connecting routes to villages and picnic sites. This route has been especially surfaced and is suitable for all ages and abilities.
The Verderers Trail is an exciting and adventurous blue-graded trail for both intermediate and experienced cyclists on mountain bikes, and is often referred to as one of the best blue trails in the UK.
The Freeminers trail is a red-graded cross-country trail with challenging and varied singletrack, ideal for even the most demanding of riders. It includes tricky switchback climbs, rooty drops and hairpin bends.
If you prefer downhill riding, then we have plenty of options – 14 to be precise. Our downhill trails range from blue to double black, and feature a range of drops, jumps, table tops and berms.
If you’re looking to hone your skills, then try out our pump track or one of our four skills areas which are suitable for all levels of rider.
Bikes can be hired or repaired from our on-site partner, and you can also enjoy the café and shop after your ride. A bookable uplift service is available for the downhill runs.
Follow tourist signs for the Forest of Dean. Take the B4226 Coleford-Cinderford road and at the crossroads with the B4234 turn north and follow the signs to the Cycle Centre.
