Set deep in the heart of the forest, this cottage has been tastefully redesigned with the environment in mind, to provide a peaceful haven in beautiful forest surroundings. Half a mile from Yorkley village with its two shops, pub and health centre, and easy access to activities within the area, Danby Cottage is perfect for couples, families and groups.

The cottage is spacious, sleeping 6 and comfortable in all seasons with central heating and log-burning stove. We aim to be as environmentally friendly as possible; using green products, encouraging recycling and composting and the electricity is supplied through solar panels.

Nearby Experiences

We're a 20 minute drive to Puzzlewood, and 10 minutes from Parkend. Beechenhurst sculpture trail, Go Ape and mountain bike trails and hire are a 15 minute drive. You can get to the river Wye for kayaking in 30 minutes.

Living/Dining Room

This is a large, open-plan space with a pitched ceiling and an oak floor. Beautiful views through the bi-fold doors to the spacious garden. The room has a cosy wood burning stove with relaxing sofas, a smart TV, DVD player and audio equipment. Part of the room contains a dining table which will comfortably seat 6 people.

Kitchen

The kitchen is fitted with a range of modern units with solid beech worktops. Equipment includes a dishwasher, fridge, a freezer, microwave oven, a full-size electric oven and hob, and a Belfast sink. It is fully equipped with all the pots and pans, crockery and cutlery you will need to make your own meals.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

The cottage has a double bedroom and a twin room upstairs, sharing a family bathroom with a full-size bath and shower.

The downstairs bedroom has a king-sized bed, and ensuite bathroom with shower.

Gardens

The beautiful garden includes a decking area with tables and chairs, a large lawn with a number of mature trees and borders. There are excellent opportunities for wildlife and bird spotting, including (if you’re lucky) a greater spotted woodpecker, barn owls, buzzards, deer and wild boar.

Accessibility

The downstairs of the cottage is accessible to those who need help with mobility and wheelchair users. The downstairs bedroom includes a ceiling hoist and an ensuite wet room which contains a folding shower stool and various grab rails. The kitchen has a lowered area of worktop and ramps enable access to the lovely garden.
