About Spring and Summer Forest of Dean Guided Wildlife Safari (daytime)
Experience the wonders of nature on a captivating walking safari through the ancient woodlands of the Forest of Dean.
This guided daytime walk will take you through stunning woodland as you listen to bird song, watch for woodland birds, scan the skies for birds of prey and seek out the tracks and signs of wild boar and deer. Get up close to fascinating mosses, lichens and woodland flowers on the forest floor, spot butterflies and lizards, dodge dung beetles on the forest tracks and experience the best each season has to offer!
Whether it’s spotting woodland and water birds in winter, tuning in to the cacophony of bird song in spring, finding butterflies, dragonflies and wildflowers in summer or enjoying the blazing spectacle of autumn, there is always so much to see and experience in the forest. Your host, Liz, will help you identify the wildlife you see, while also sharing fascinating stories about the forest’s rich history and important ecology.
