About Forest of Dean Bird of Prey Safari
The Forest of Dean remains one of the UK’s most remarkable strongholds for birds of prey and this experience offers a wonderful opportunity to observe these magnificent birds in their natural habitat.
From our chosen viewpoint, we will spend time watching the comings and goings of the forest’s residents. It is a chance to see the peregrines that nest nearby – favouring certain perches and nesting spots – as well as the possibility of goshawks, buzzards, sparrowhawks, red kites and kestrels.
Depending on the season, the other wildlife we saw or hear will also change; you will hear the rich birdsong across the valley in spring, spot the arrival of summer migrants like swifts, swallows and hobbies as they pass through or even hear the echo of rutting fallow deer in the autumn. We may also see ravens, grey herons and goosanders amongst other birdlife that flies past.
With Ed’s expert insight, you will gain a deeper understanding of the behaviour of these birds of birds of prey. Join us for a unique perspective on the wilder side of the Forest of Dean.
Please note: this experience requires at least two people to go ahead.
