The Hope and Anchor & Pavilion

At the Hope & Anchor we provide quality beers and ales as well as great home-cooked food 7 days a week, served in our restaurant area, bar area or outside on one of our 40 or so picnic tables.

Coming in 2023, accommodation consisting of 12 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, all newly renovated to a high standard, providing our guests with the opportunity to enjoy an extended stay in a beautiful river-side location with beautiful views.

If you’re passing by or want to stop for a quick bite, we have the Kiosk located just by the river. Here you can grab soups, quiches, and home-made cakes, as well as hot and cold drinks. This is complemented by our outside pizza oven – the perfect treat for visitors during the spring and summer months!

Lastly, we have The Pavilion which is our cocktail bar and event space. Having opened in December 2021, it provides a café style environment including home-made cakes, lunches and snacks in the daytime as well as afternoon teas. During the weekends, join us for our extensive cocktail list, with classic cocktails made by our expert mixologists. Afternoon Tea and Cocktail Masterclass experiences are available if you fancy a sweet treat or tipple or two!

The Pavilion is also available to hire for bespoke and corporate events. Utilising the experience & expertise of our parent company, Country House Weddings, we are able provide private functions and special occasions such as engagements and wedding celebrations as well as birthday and work functions. We have packages to suit all types of budgets, which include catering, and have a dedicated team to help make your day or evening.

We have a fantastic calendar of events throughout the year, such as free live music in our garden, Christmas parties, NYE event, themed fine dining evenings, and more.

Getting to us

From the main Hereford/Abergavenny roundabout, follow signs into Ross.

Take the first left slip road, then past the bandstand and public toilets on the right.

On the left is the entrance to the Hope and Anchor pub and gardens.

Buses run into and from all parts of the county to the main town area, with a short walk down to the river where we are located.
