About Deanwood Holidays
Deanwood Holidays is home to thirteen self-catering cottages and a quiet caravan and camping site, tucked away in a quiet rural area, on the edge of The Forest of Dean. One farm labourer's cottage has been fully renovated in a modern rustic theme, and includes a woodburner and a fully maintained hot tub in the enclosed garden exclusive to its guests. The remaining cottages have been sympathetically converted from three stable blocks grouped around a central courtyard. Altogether there are 6 two-storey holiday cottages, and 7 ground floor holiday cottages available. They range to accommodate from 2 people up to 5 in a cottage. The ground floor cottages are more suitable for those with reduced mobility. They are fully equipped for self-catering, and have use of a laundry, and a freezer. Dogs are welcome in 10 of the cottages.
The campsite at the other end of the site, has panoramic views to the west over the Lyd Valley and beyond. The site has 40 pitches: 20 for caravans and motorhomes and 20 tent pitches. EHU is available. There are modern shower and toilet blocks, and a wash-up and laundry room with fridge and freezer, all free for our guests to use. Free Wifi is also available. The new terraced premium pitches are grass and gravel with EHU and dedicated water supply while other hard standing and grass pitches are well spaced out, mainly level or gently sloping. This is an ideal campsite for those that love mountain biking in the forest.
Dogs (kept on leads within the grounds) are welcome, and with direct access into the Forest, there are miles of walks on the doorstep.
The village of Yorkley is easy walking distance from Deanwood Holidays being only half a mile away. In Yorkley Village there are 2 general stores, one of which also houses the Post Office, one pub, a hairdresser, Health Centre and Community Centre with skate park and children’s play area.
