About At Old Gore Farm

Angus & Sarah welcome you to Old Gore Farm, our Georgian farmhouse where our home is at the heart of all we do

Your home-from-home accommodation

Here we've created The Boar Suite, a private first-floor suite for couples comprising a double bedroom, large bathroom and kitchenette.  Restoration has been in keeping with the 18th century house - winding staircases, exposed oak beams, no straight edges!   Interior design also gives a nod to Georgian times with toile de jouy wallpaper and classic colours, yet with contemporary touches - TV, wifi, fridge - to make your stay a cosy home-from-home.  There is plenty of free car parking, guests can also sit out in some areas of the garden - and there's a tennis court (bring your own racquets and balls!).

Your meals

Breakfast is cooked on the AGA using locally sourced, home-made and home-grown produce as much as possible, with seasonal variations.  We're lucky to be surrounded by award-winning food producers, farm shops and markets - we make our own chutneys, jams and hummus, too.  There are plenty of pubs, restaurants, delis and cafes in Ross on Wye itself and the surrounding area, but for those guests who may prefer a light option or just something on arrival here, we offer a cold meat and cheese sharing platter, which can be booked as an extra at time of room booking.  All meals are served in the Dining Room with the log-burner blazing in the background on a chilly day, or in the Conservatory overlooking the garden with views across Hay Bluff and beyond.

Explore the local area

Located just 4 miles North East of Ross, Old Gore Farm is an ideal hub from which to set out on your Forest of Dean & Wye Valley adventures. Herefordshire is a key county for events such as art trails, literature, music festivals.  Travel further afield into the Three Counties of Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire, with ancient landmarks, cathedral cities and spa towns.  Ross is also known as the Gateway to Wales .... or just take a stroll along the many local footpaths and riverside trails before coming home to relax in The Boar Suite.

How to find us

Old Gore Farm is opposite the war memorial on the B4225, the road known as the 'cut-through' between the A449 to Ledbury and the B4224 to Fownhope/Hereford.  Our postcode is HR9 7QR.  If you use what3words, the precise location for access to the property is ///shapeless.inner.diamonds, opposite the orange road mirror onto the driveway alongside the tennis court.
