About Us

Nestled in the heart of the Royal Forest of Dean sits The Speech House Hotel, a former 17th century hunting lodge. The forest is literally on the doorstep and the hotel offers guests a warm welcome and original charm, combined with modern day hotel facilities.

The hotel has 35 comfortable en-suite bedrooms, half of which are in the historic main house, some with impressive antique master four-poster beds.

There are several dining options, from the informal Orangery to enjoy a tasty lunch or traditional Afternoon Tea, to the AA Rosette fine-dining restaurant set in the historic Verderers' Court Room. The hotel has a cosy bar area and pretty garden for drinks and alfresco lunches, with new heated dining dens.

Wedding venue with contemporary purpose-built function suite with private bar - capacity up to 200 people.

The hotel is children and dog friendly*.

Car parking on site with two EV charging points for hotel guests.
