About Rock climbing adventure

Fantastic Rock Climbing Locations

Wintour’s Leap rock climbing

The climbing and abseiling at Wintours Leap is in the lower Wye Valley, close at hand for a rock climbing adventure near Bristol. This is a gorgeous spot with a 30-40 minute scenic walk in through the riverside woodlands, passing the ruins of a centuries’ old chapel. The climbing itself takes you up to wonderful views of the tidal river Wye, down towards the Severn Estuary. Wintours Leap does not have any formal facilities and is best suited to a full day adventure, due to the length of time required to walk in.

South Wales rock climbing

Brecon Beacons rock climbing sessions take place at Llangattock on the edge of the mountains above Crickhowell or on the cliffs above Merthyr Tydfil. Our Bannau Brycheiniog / Brecon Beacons rock climbing sites are a little more remote, with no on site facilities. Our Brecon Beacons sites are ideal for groups wanting to go rock climbing and abseiling near Abergavenny, Brynmawr and Brecon.

Rock Climbing for Families

Whether you’re enjoying a family holiday in the Wye Valley & Forest of Dean or Bannau Brycheiniog / Brecon Beacons National Park, or you’re a local looking for thrills, we think rock climbing is the perfect activity for adventurous families. You can help to choose the routes you climb and set your own targets. Rock climbing encourages co-operation and mutual support, although a little friendly competition usually creeps in as well. You’ll enjoy a physical, energetic activity, so it’s great exercise too!

Rock Climbing with Friends

Adult groups looking for adventure will love a rock climbing day in the Wye Valley or Bannau Brycheiniog / Brecon Beacons. Challenge your mates and learn who has the balance and flexibility to get to the top! It’s not all about strength, so you might be surprised to discover which of your group glides up the crag, leaving the rest trailing behind!

Rock Climbing for your team

Rock climbing can be a fun adventure for a staff reward day, but can equally be used for focussed team development. We can tailor your day to develop communication, leadership and co-operation within your team. For something a little more bespoke, just get in touch and we’ll develop the right team development day for you.

Activity Combos

If you need a bit more adventure, why not try one of our activity combos. Combine rock climbing with caving or abseiling for a full day of adventure at our Llangattock site, or try bushcraft or archery nearby.
