About Potter's Wheel Introduction Class

£60 per person

Participants share a potter’s wheel, one between two, making it just perfect for small groups and couples. Individuals are most welcome too – many friendships have been forged sharing a wheel at Eastnor Pottery.

You get two goes each and definitely won’t be bored waiting your turn. It’s a fantastic spectator sport, in fact, you learn more watching your potting partner than when sitting at the wheel yourself.

On arrival

You are guaranteed a warm welcome from your hosts, celebrated studio potters Sarah Monk and Jon Williams.

Professional Demo

It’s a gentle start and once you’re ‘aproned up’ and seated, you’ll be treated to an informative and entertaining demonstration. We explain the process in five, easy to understand steps…then it’s down to business!

Throw Down Time

We move through the five steps altogether, as a group, advancing only to the next stage when everybody’s in a good place. You get two goes each and we encourage you to swap over in between goes. Remember, the watching is just as important, if not more than, the making.

Finishing Up

At the close of the session, choose to recycle your pots; air-dry your favourite at home or have your creation fired and glazed
