Everyone who saw the duel says it was ‘done right and fair’, but Hanging Judge Johnson couldn’t care less.

Determined to drag the town of Lyndey, North Carolina, kicking and screaming into the 20th century, Johnson plans to make an example of the gunslinger and the old order he represents – but Mortimer says he didn’t fire the fatal shot, someone else interrupted the duel.
