Guided walks with local historian Alex Knight to Discover Dene:

Join Alex for a walk in the woods to learn about the history, plants, and wildlife of this stunning land betwixt two rivers.
09:45: Meet your guide, Alex, on the coffee shop balcony overlooking the millpond to get ready for the walk. There will be time to grab a quick cup of tea or coffee with an energy-boosting flapjack to get you started.
10:00: Head out into the woods to discover the stunning ancient woodlands just beyond our boundary. It hides the industrial past of the Forest of Dean and is home to a multitude of woodland creatures. Be amazed by immense veteran trees, discover the multitude of woodland plants and trees that have colonised ancient quarries and change with every season. Follow forest tracks that shy woodland creatures use and immerse yourself in the woodland paradise to refresh the soul.
13:00: Return to the Heritage Coffee Shop for a tasty lunch of home-made soup and a roll or scone and tea/coffee with a slice of cake.
Price: £40 per person
Booking: Book online here! A maximum of 18 bookings will be taken. The walk is approximately 8KM and takes around 3hrs. It is imperative that suitable footwear is worn as you will be walking along woodland tracks and paths. You don't need to be ultra fit, but it is hilly out there!
