About Woofield Accommodation
The Woofield Accommodation apartments are situated on the edge of delightful Newland village. They form part of a Georgian property which has recently been totally renovated by acclaimed interior designers. The property is a 5 minute stroll away from the renowned ‘Cathedral of the Forest’ and ‘The Ostrich’ pub which rates highly with locals and visitors alike. There are 3 very different but equally luxurious apartments to choose from. They all feature new orthopaedic inner sprung mattresses (which our guests love), fine linens and a timeless mix of high quality furnishings. Bathrooms have marble floors and traditional, quality fixtures.
‘The Palm House’ is extremely spacious at over 1000 square feet and has 2 large bedrooms, a charming Regency sitting room and fully equipped eat in kitchen. The décor has a Mediterranean feel and the bathroom boats a clawfoot bath and separate shower. ‘Cathedral View’ has an original vaulted ceiling, grand neo-gothic window and cosy log burner, with its sleeping area separated by an impressive stained glass feature. ‘Steeple View’ is a more rustic large studio, accessed via a robust outdoor spiral staircase. It has a botanical theme and is a favourite for walkers and nature lovers. There are numerous walks and rambles that can be taken directly from the property and the towns of Coleford (5 minutes away) and Monmouth (15 minutes) provide excellent options for eating, drinking and food shopping. The legendary fall colours abound around Woofield and there is a huge amount of outdoor activities available practically on the doorstep. These apartments are like no others in the area and provide for an indulgent destination where to escape or celebrate!
Getting to us
Road: There are several ways to reach the village by car. If coming from the east, via the Cotswolds on the M40 is very attractive, as an alternative to the M4/M48 via Chepstow. Newland is southeast of Monmouth and southwest of Coleford so either the A446 or the A4136 can be taken respectively. The easiest way to find the property is in fact to enter ‘Newland’ into Google Maps as the pointer comes up on Woofield!
Public transport: Lydney train station is 8 miles away, and only a 12 minute taxi ride or drive.
It is also possible to catch a bus but they are quite irregular.
