A bedroom with double bed, shower room with wc and washbasin, open plan lounge-diner and kitchen area with patio doors opening onto the garden area.   This wonderful detached cottage is ideal for a couple. Renovated and converted from a pigsty, this single storey accommodation is full of charm and character, with simple white stone walls contrasting with dark oak woodwork and an interesting feature window.

Covered cycle storage is available, as is WIFI

Situated mid way between Chepstow, Monmouth, Lydney and Coleford, there are several choices for visiting market towns and historic sites showcasing the industrial heritage of the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, as well as the stunning castles and Tintern Abbey.  Our rural location benefits from regular sitings from herds of deer, badgers, pheasants, bats, and other wildlife and birds.  The renowned walkers path Offa's Dyke passes close to our property, with Wye Valley Trails directly accessible.

Whether you want to escape your city life for a weekend of tranquility, dark skies, stunning views and local walks, Oakgrove Cottage provides a relaxing rural vacation. Guests tell us this is the best place to see badgers and perfect opportunities for birdwatching and photography

Outdoor Activities

The River Wye provides opportunities for paddle boarding and kayaking, fishing enthusiasts can find ponds, cyclists have access to Forest Cycle Paths, and quiet country lanes (with convenient cafes and tea shops).
