• Falconry at Chepstow Castle Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th July

Learn more about the ancient tradition of falconry at Chepstow Castle, watch flying displays and see the amazing birds up close.

• Let’s Discover… Medieval Weapons Tuesday 21st July

Be entertained by a resident knight while getting an up-close look at medieval weapons through engaging talks and live demonstrations that answer everything you’ve ever wanted to know about life in the castle.

900 mlynedd o hanes

Dechreuwyd adeiladu’r castell ym 1067 gan yr Iarll William FitzOsbern, cyfaill agos i William y Concwerwr, sy’n golygu ei fod ymhlith y cestyll cerrig hynaf sydd wedi goroesi ym Mhrydain.

Cewch eich diddanu gan y marchog preswyl wrth ddysgu mwy am arfau canoloesol drwy sgyrsiau ac arddangosiadau byw sy’n rhoi cipolwg ar fywyd yn y castell.Rydyn ni’n annog i ymwelwyr brynu tocynnau ymlaen llaw ar wefan Cadw, lle gallant hefyd fanteisio ar brisiau rhatach.

Diwrnod llawn hwyl yng Nghas-gwent a’r cyffiniau

Dim ond taith gerdded fer o’r castell mae strydoedd hanesyddol Cas-gwent, yr adeiladau Sioraidd a Fictoraidd, y siopau annibynnol, y caffis a’r tafarndai.

Os hoffech archwilio mwy o hanes y dref, gallwch ymweld â Mur Porthladd Cas-gwent. Adeiladwyd muriau’r dref yn y 13eg ganrif ac maent yn dal i sefyll heddiw, gyda rhannau hyd at 13 troedfedd o uchder. Mae hefyd modd gweld hen borth hanesyddol a gweddillion tyrau oedd unwaith yn amgáu’r dref o’r castell hyd at Afon Gwy.
