About Us
Our foraging trips are very popular. The crop depends on season and ranges from a wide variety of edible mushrooms, wild garlic and sorrel, bitter cress, pennywort, wimberries, edible flowers and wild strawberries. Spring forages will be more about the hedgerow, summer will be fruits and flowers and the autumn will have a more mushroom focus. We work with three organisations to bring you the best foraging experience
We have the privilege of working with two individuals to provide the best of foraging throughout the year.
Ed Drewitt
Ed is a naturalist, broadcaster and wildlife detective. He will take you for a two and a half hour walk from the hotel to find the edible goodies available locally. Expect him to also keep you fully informed about the birds and wildlife you see along the way too. Meeting at 10am you will return in time for lunch at the hotel (included).

Costs: £80 per person with lunch. Payment should be made in advance when the booking is made.

Liz Knight
Liz Knight has spent the last 10 years gathering and playing with wild food, turning her finds into delicious condiments and seasonings that she sells through Forage Fine Foods. Liz’s courses are designed to open you eyes to how the commonest of weeds can be transformed into the most exciting, nutritious and sustainable of foods.
Liz and her recipes have featured in national and international publications and television programmes, her first book is due to be published in Spring 2021.
Liz will take you for a walk on the hotel grounds to collect foraged goodies. Back at the hotel Liz will show you how to make delicious foraged recipes to take away.
