About Us

Wharton Lodge Cottages offer a relaxed, safe, calm and tranquil environment.  We have been accredited with Visit England 'We're Good To Go' and the AA 'Covid-19 Confident' schemes. Your safety and the safety of our team is of huge importance to us.

Guests are welcome to use the stunning walled garden, furnished glasshouse and grounds. Surrounded by 14 acres of unspoilt parkland and gardens these individually designed, stone-built cottages provide comfortable, luxury accommodation for couples or small groups. 

There are three cottages to choose from - Elgar, Grosvenor or Harewood - each has unique charm and provides an idyllic property for a romantic weekend, short break or longer relaxing holiday. Two cottages have their own private walled courtyard garden for al fresco dining.

Elgar cottage is not suitable for pets but Grosvenor and Harewood are dog friendly.

Interior designed and superbly equipped these cottages offer all that you would expect from Gold Award 5* properties. Each has unique appeal with individually styled rooms, co-ordinated furnishings and fabrics, fully fitted kitchen, cotton linen, luxury towels, bath robes, Wi-Fi and Smart TVs.

If you are looking for somewhere special then Wharton Lodge Cottages are the answer....

Elgar cottage: spacious bright bedroom with a contemporary four poster bed and ensuite with power shower over the full length bath on first floor. Full kitchen and sitting/dining room on the ground floor. Amazing views of parkland and open countryside from every room. Easy level parking. (sleeps 2 guests + cot)

Grosvenor cottage: has an enormous master bedroom with super-king size bed and comfortable sofa to sit and enjoy the view. On the first floor there is also a single bedroom and bathroom with power shower over the bath. On the ground floor there is a full kitchen with dining area leading onto a spacious sitting room with views of open countryside and access to private walled courtyard garden for al fresco dining (sleeps 3 guests + cot)

Harewood: with two double bedrooms both with king size beds and a shared bathroom on first floor. Sociable ground floor with open plan kitchen and lounge/diner with access to private walled courtyard garden, perfect for al fresco dining (sleeps up to 4 guests)

Adjacent to the Forest of Dean and about 20 minutes from Symonds Yat, Wharton Lodge Cottages are located just three miles from Ross-on-Wye off the Ross-on-Wye to Gloucester Road between the villages of Lea and Ryeford. Wharton Lodge is well signposted and is on the left if you are heading from Ross and on the right if coming from Gloucester. Please take the entrance marked 'Wharton Lodge Cottages'. Enter via the electric gates and take the long driveway to the rear of the main house. Designated guest parking is next to the green timber garage.
