About Us

Ideally situated to explore the Wye valley, Monmouthshire and Herefordshire yet just 10 minuets from the motorway, Welsh Marches holidays offers dog friendly flexible accommodation in 3 architectural designed cottages with panoramic views over our 40 acre farm.

Our three cottages can be booked together in a block or individually. Together they can accommodate up to 6 couples. The largest unit, the Sugar Loaf, has a spacious lounge with seating and dining provisions to cater for the whole party together. However, the single bedded units also have their own kitchens, dining area and lounge. All the cottages have high speed internet.

Each cottage has its own digital phone as some mobiles will not get signal here unless you have WiFi calling.

The Sugar Loaf

The Sugar Loaf has three en suite bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed and en suite with a bath with shower. The other two rooms have showers. One has a double bed while the other has two twin beds.

All bedrooms have large windows facing west.

The communal area has the wow factor! High ceiling and large windows the whole length of the room which open onto a terrace.

There is a well-equipped kitchen, a large dining area and lounge with sofas, chairs for 12 people and a smart, wall-mounted TV .

The furniture includes a bed settee allowing a fourth couple to use the building if required.

The Skirrid

The Skirrid has a double, en suite bedroom and the whole of the west facing gable-end of the lounge is glass affording a wonderful view of the rural landscape.

The kitchen is well equipped with a dining area and lounge with a smart, wall mounted TV .

The windows open onto a terrace.

The Blorenge

The Blorenge is a stone building with a double bedroom, wet room and toilet attached. There is a well-equipped kitchen and dining area which opens onto a small terrace.

A separate lounge has a smart, wall mounted TV and picture window overlooking the valley and ridge beyond.

To ensure you have a comfortable and relaxing time during your stay the spacious cottages are furnished to the highest standard. With an emphasis on the great outdoors we have a doggy wash area for your four legged friends, a drying and boot room for muddy walking gear and a lockable bike store for your mountain or road bike. John and Chris are looking forward to offering you a warm welcome and fresh eggs from our own chickens.

Road Directions

Set on a farm in the heart of rural Monmouthshire on the edge of the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are less that 15 minutes from the old Severn Bridge, M48; Bristol is 30 minutes away; Cardiff 40 minutes. The bridges are now toll free.

Our small working farm, with views over the River Severn, has horses, cows, sheep, chickens and ducks as well as our spaniels and cat . We are at the heart of a network of paths, tracks and rural roads ideal for walkers, runners, on and off-road cyclists and horse riders.

We are close to renowned rock climbing, potholes and canoeing in the Wye Valley; the National Diving Centre; Chepstow Racecourse and David Broome Equestrian Centre; and the glorious Black Mountains. Brecon Beacons and Forest of Dean with its mountain biking hub near Coleford are within an easy drive. There are routes to explore on the farm and from the farm to pubs and locations such as Tintern Abbey. We are on the edge of a 1,000 acre wood.
