Doug and Elaine would love to welcome you to Highbury Coach House, situated in Lydney, a small village in the Royal Forest of Dean and close to all the numerous attractions the area has to offer. Puzzlewood, Clearwell Caves, Hopewell Colliery and Symonds Yat are a short drive away and the Dean Forest steam railway runs along the field at the bottom of the gardens.
The coach house was built in 1850 and now boasts 4 tastefully decorated, inviting holiday apartments all recently refurbished to a high standard. Next door is Highbury House, our home, where we are on hand to offer advice and support if needed. We also offer a dog sitting service (£20 for 4-5hrs) should you want to visit an attraction that does not welcome your four-legged companions.
Our apartments, namely The Stable, The Grooms, The Tackroom and The Carriages all have a twin bedroom, a double bedroom with a king size bed, Egyptian cotton bedding, Luxury towels, fully fitted and equipped kitchens inc. dishwasher, microwave and washing machines, dining areas, comfortable seating areas, large smart tv's, wi-fi, heating and have everything you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.
The Grooms and the Tackroom are both situated on the ground floor, with the Grooms boasting a large patio/balcony, a full suite of garden furniture and stunning views over the beautiful gardens and forest. The Tackroom has a private patio with a bistro set, ideal for enjoying the views over morning coffee or an evening drink.
The Stable and Carriages are both situated on the first floor, are extremely comfortable and have great views over the forest and the Cotswolds beyond.
All our apartments are dog friendly with no extra charge made for one or two well behaved dogs. Our guests have full access to our lovely gardens with its meandering paths and many seating areas, perfect for relaxing and taking in the stunning views. We have outdoor dining tables for al fresco meals and guests are more than welcome to use the barbeque or chiminea for the more adventurous cook. Each apartment has parking for one car (two on request) plus access to a secure bike store (charging available for e-bikes) if required.
