About Us
Glamping is all about getting back to nature with a few more creature comforts. At Hidden Valley Yurts you can enjoy the simplicity of a rural yurt holiday with nature on your (Mongolian) doorstep. Our beautiful valley is the perfect place to unwind, relax and enjoy all that nature has to offer. If you don't want to, you don't even have to leave our site. Everything is here already for you to enjoy a wonderful holiday.
About the Yurts
We have 5 fully furnished, beautifully painted, Mongolian yurts. 3 yurts sleep up to 6 people and 2 yurts sleep up to 4 people. Group bookings are available.
The yurts are located in a south-facing, wildflower meadow. There are plenty of paths to follow, a small stream runs along the bottom of the field and there are views to the west of the Welsh hills. There are no caravans or touring tents in our hidden valley but in a separate area we do have a luxury Lake House cabin.
Each yurt sits on its own individual wooden deck, with chairs, tables, benches, a chimenea, a built in stone BBQ and a wood store. Inside each yurt the large crown lets in light and a rain cap can be removed for star gazing on fine evenings. Our yurts are waterproof and thickly lined with sheep's wool felt for cosy warmth on cooler days. Because of this insulation it takes less than half an hour for the wood burning stove to heat the yurt up.
Each yurt is lit with a ring of solar powered fairy lights and solar lights outside, but you may wish to bring your own torch and camping light as it does get very dark as we are situated in a low light pollution area, which is ideal for star gazzing on a clear night.
Comfort and luxury is what glamping is about. Each yurt is beautifully hand painted and individually furnished and you will find lots of throws in your yurt to snuggle into.
A good night's sleep is an essential element of glamping. Yurts 1, 2 and 3 have a super king-size bed for added luxury and Yurts 4 and 5 have a king-size bed. There are single futons or daybeds in all of the yurts too. You will need to bring your own bedding (duvets, pillows etc.), sleeping bags. Beding can be hired so you don't need to fill your car up with bedding but supplies are limited so please book in advance.
Well equipped kitchens
We have 3 fully functional kitchens, yurt 1 has its own private kitchen, yurts 2 & 3 share another kitchen and yurt 4 & 5 share the 3rd. In the share kitchens each yurt has its own cooker and fridge. Ithere are also 2 dishwashers, 3 microwaves, an espresso machine and enought crockery, cooking utensils, mugs, glasses, pans, knives and forks for everyone. Each yurt has its own food cupboard and there is also a communal freezer. There is plenty of seating including and high chairs are avalible. Yurt 1 has exclusive use of a separate kitchen which is fully equipped and was completely rebuilt in 2017.
Bathroom facilities
From 2022 Yurts 2, 3, 4 & 5 each have their own private boutique style bathroom, with a bath, rain shower, flushing loo, hand basin and shaver point. Yurt 1 has a private safari shower, which has a gas boiler to provide lots of hot water no matter the weather and a compost loo.
There is a wood-burning pizza oven, communal BBQ, safari style dining tent and central campfire with seating around. We supply firewood where possible from off cuts or you can help yourself from our woodland.
Games
Below the veranda there's a boules pitch and we have pleanty of games and activities to borrow (on request). From mid May 2022 we will also have a small adventure play area and rope swings for the children.
