About Us
An unmissable chance to go back over 800 years and stay in a remarkably well-preserved moated Norman castle. The castle offers budget accommodation for holidaymakers, families, small activity/youth groups, backpackers and school groups, as well as providing an amazing venue for private hire events (wedding receptions/birthday parties).
A full meal service is available from the licensed restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and evening meals, as well as regular hosted Medieval Banquets (open to non-residents).
Activities on-site include archery and family/group team building games, as well as regular Castle Tours. Non-residents are very welcome to join in the fun. For Key Stage 1 & 2 the site also offers residential and non-residential history packages.
The castle is right in the middle of the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley so there's lots of fantastic walks from the doorstep, including the nearby Offa's Dyke Path, an ancient border between England and Wales. There is also easy access to family attractions, cycle trails and outdoor pursuits.
